Stolen Moped on Broadway, Scarborough.

Good afternoon residents,

We are writing this message to make you aware that on the evening of Friday 26th September 2025 there was a moped taken from Broadway in Scarborough. The moped was found on Saturday morning having been dumped in the bushes at the Gallows Close play area.

There has been an increase in thefts of mopeds, scooters and motorbikes in Scarborough and Eastfield and we are increasing our patrols in your area to both prevent further crime and to target the individuals who have been committing the crime.

We are reaching out to all moped and motor bike owners to make sure that your vehicles are safe and secure, as they may be vulnerable to theft. 

Our advice is to : TRACE LOCK COVER

Trace- consider fitting a tracking device to your bike.

Lock- Research into the best locks that most suit your bike type. Done rely on just your steering lock as this can be snapped off easily!

Cover- Using a cover instantly makes it harder for a thief to know what make and model it is.
